Pneumatic HP Butterfly Valve (SUS304, Double Acting, 10K)

Model: PAVP-15(D)

PAVP-15(D) is a pneumatic double-acting high-performance butterfly valve featuring a double-offset construction with a SUS304 body and disc and an RTFE seat. The short face-to-face design is advantageous for installation in confined sections, and the wide lineup - from compact 20A and 25A sizes up to large bores - is used for automatic flow-control lines in the chemical, plant, water/wastewater, and construction sectors.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does double-offset structure differ from standard CONCENTRIC structure?
CONCENTRIC structure has the stem axis aligned with the pipe centerline, offering price and structural simplicity advantages as a standard form. Double-offset structure has the stem axis offset in two directions, so the disc and seat contact only at the moment of opening/closing and move in non-contact state during the middle rotation section, reducing seat friction and wear, extending seat life, and lowering operating torque. It is preferred in lines requiring high-cycle repetitive opening/closing or tight sealing.
What is the operating temperature of RTFE seats and the criteria for switching to metal seats?
RTFE seats can be used up to approximately 220°C. For higher-temperature lines, sections in direct steam contact, or environments where soft seats cannot ensure long-term durability such as highly abrasive slurry or solid-laden fluids, the specification can be changed to metal seats. Metal seats may have slightly increased leakage compared to soft seats but provide superior long-term reliability in high-temperature and high-abrasion environments.
Can it be applied to small-diameter lines?
High-performance butterfly valves are generally supplied for medium and large-diameter lines, but PAVP-15(D) has a lineup down to small sizes such as 20A (3/4 inch) and 25A (1 inch). For small-diameter branch lines requiring short face-to-face length, fast operation, and low operating torque, it can be used as an alternative to gate or ball valves; let us know the application size and we will provide stock and lead time information.
How do I choose between double-acting and single-acting?
Double-acting offers fast response and large torque margin, suited for high-frequency repetitive control and sequence control; however, position retention is uncertain when pneumatic pressure is lost. Single-acting (spring return) enables fail-safe return when air is lost, making it suitable for lines where safety shutoff is critical. Choose double-acting (PAVP-15(D)) for high-speed automatic control priority, single-acting (PAVP-15(S)) for safety shutoff priority.
What accessories can be attached to a pneumatic valve?
We supply integrated packages combining various accessories to meet field requirements. Typical accessories include limit switch boxes for DCS/PLC feedback of open/close status, solenoid valves for remote sequence control, and air filter regulators for particulate/moisture removal and pressure stabilization.
