Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose between flanged and threaded connections?
Flanged connections are advantageous for large-bore lines, high-pressure applications, and sections requiring frequent disassembly and reassembly. Threaded connections are simpler to install and more cost-effective for small-bore, low-pressure lines. Generally, flanged connections are chosen for 50A and above or Class 10K and above; threaded connections are preferred for 40A and below at low pressure.
What flange standard is used?
The default flange standard for PMV-22 is JIS 10K. Alternative international standards including KS, ANSI, and PN are available upon request. Please share the flange standard and bolt-hole pattern of your existing line and we will prepare the appropriate specification.
Can the valve be converted to actuated operation later?
PMV-22 includes an ISO5211 direct mounting pad as standard, so an initially manual installation can later be upgraded to pneumatic or electric actuation by simply attaching an actuator - no body replacement required. This makes it well suited for projects that require phased automation.
How do I choose between 2PC and 3PC?
2PC has fewer parts and fewer leakage points and is cost-competitive, making it the standard choice for general shutoff lines. 3PC allows seat and ball servicing without dismantling the pipeline, which is advantageous for lines with frequent maintenance.
