How does a regular blank flange differ from a bored blank flange?

A regular blank flange (PVF-05) is a flat plate with a fully blocked center, used to completely close a line end or block an unused port. A bored blank flange (PVF-22) has a machining-allowance bore in the center, designed to allow on-site re-machining and additional welding of sensors or tubing. Choose the regular blank for simple closure and the bored type when port additions are anticipated.

Do centering rings and clamps need to be prepared separately?

Yes. Blank flanges provide only the face, while actual fastening and sealing are performed by the centering ring (with O-ring) and clamp. Therefore, when using a blank flange, prepare same-size centering rings and clamps together as a rule.

Up to what vacuum level can it be used?

PVF-05 is a KF (NW) blank flange suitable for use in the general high vacuum (HV) range. For environments requiring ultra-high vacuum (UHV), the CF flange system is appropriate, so tell us the operating environment and we will advise on suitability and alternatives.
