Frequently Asked Questions

How do equal tees and reducing tees differ?
An equal tee is a basic branching configuration where all three ports have the same diameter, while a reducing tee has one port machined to a smaller diameter than the other two. Reducing tees are used to introduce small-bore auxiliary lines such as sensors or gauges from a larger pipe. PVF-07 is a standard equal-tee format. If a reducing type is needed, please contact us separately.
Up to what size can be supplied?
A size range from NW16 to NW100 is available. Tell us the flange size in use and the branching configuration, and we will supply matching specifications.
Do centering rings and clamps need to be prepared separately?
Yes. The KF (NW) flange system has a structure where sealing is formed only when the centering ring (with O-ring) and clamp are present. Tee fittings themselves provide only the flange face, so during fastening, prepare centering rings and clamps separately for each port.
Up to what vacuum level can it be used?
PVF-07 is standardly used as a branching fitting in the general high vacuum (HV) range. For environments requiring ultra-high vacuum (UHV), the CF flange system is appropriate, so tell us the operating environment and we will advise on suitability and alternatives.
