How do I choose between electric and pneumatic?

Pneumatic offers fast operation speed and easy fail-safe configuration via spring-return; however, it requires auxiliary equipment such as compressed air, filters, and solenoids. Electric only requires power for installation and offers easy maintenance, but operation is slow and unsuitable for high-frequency cycles. Choose electric for fields without pneumatic facilities or when only a few valves need automation; choose pneumatic for processes requiring high-frequency cycles or fail-safe.

What options can be added to electric actuators?

Various options are available depending on application. First, small-diameter valves can be configured with approximately 1-second high-speed open/close specifications, suitable for lines requiring fast ON/OFF repetition. Second, for sections requiring continuous flow control, proportional control specifications that control opening with 4-20 mA input signals can be selected. Third, explosion-proof actuator specifications are available for hazardous areas handling flammable gas or ignitable liquids. What is the application range of EPDM seats?

EPDM has excellent durability against water, hot water, and mildly alkaline fluids, and good recovery elasticity in CIP/SIP environments. Swelling can occur with hydrocarbon-based fluids such as oil and fuel, so consider other seat materials such as NBR for those environments.

How is the cast iron body coated?

Cast iron bodies are coated externally with epoxy-based coating as standard to prevent external corrosion, and internal lining options (epoxy, rubber lining, etc.) can be applied depending on the operating fluid. For lines requiring internal coating such as seawater or special chemical lines, let us know the operating conditions and we will review the appropriate specification.
