Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I distinguish L-port and T-port for a 3-way ball valve?
- L-port connects only one of the two ports and is suited for simple switching, while T-port can connect three ports simultaneously and is used for manifolds requiring branching and merging at the same time.
- How do I choose between single-acting and double-acting?
- Single-acting (spring-return) automatically returns to Fail Close or Fail Open when pneumatic pressure is lost, making it suitable for sanitary lines where safety shutoff is critical. Double-acting offers fast response and large torque margin, suitable for high-frequency repeated control, but position retention is uncertain when pneumatic pressure is lost.
- How do I decide between Fail Close and Fail Open?
- For supply lines of flammable solvents or combustible gases, automatic shutoff is required upon loss of pneumatic pressure, so Fail Close is selected. For lines where supply must be maintained, such as cooling water or cleaning water, Fail Open is selected. Tell us the process safety requirements and we will prepare the spring direction matched to that specification.
- What accessories can be attached to pneumatic valves?
- Integrated packages combining various accessories tailored to site requirements can be supplied. Typical accessories include limit switch boxes, solenoid valves, and air filter regulators. Tell us your site configuration and we will prepare an appropriate combination.
