PSF-06 is a flanged (butterfly) gasket made of VITON (FKM) used at sanitary tri-clamp connections. The flanged structure with anti-displacement ridges fixes the assembly position, and it is used for sealing organic-solvent and high-temperature lines in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food and beverage, and secondary battery processes where EPDM is not suitable.

- How do I choose between VITON and EPDM/silicone gaskets?
- EPDM is standard for water, hot water, and weakly alkaline fluids; silicone is standard for food and dairy lines across a wide temperature range. VITON (FKM) offers broader chemical resistance and is selected for hydrocarbon fluids, certain organic solvents, and high-concentration alcohol lines that are difficult to handle with elastomers. Tell us the fluid and temperature in use and we will review the appropriate material.
- What is the operating temperature range of VITON?
- Standard VITON (FKM) is usable in approximately the -20 to 200 degree C range. For very low temperatures or environments significantly above 200 degree C, a separate material review is required. Share the operating conditions and we will advise on suitability.
- How does it differ from a PTFE gasket?
- PTFE offers even broader chemical resistance than VITON, but as a fluoropolymer rather than an elastomer it has low elastic recovery and tends to creep after tightening. VITON keeps elastomer-style elastic recovery while extending chemical resistance, giving it the advantage of being easier to manage than PTFE in repeated disconnect-and-reconnect environments.
