The 3-stage segmented hinge delivers more uniform circumferential surface-pressure distribution, and it is used to secure joints on lines requiring high airtightness and long-term use in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food and beverage, and secondary battery processes.

How do I choose between single-stage, two-stage, and three-stage clamps?

A single-stage clamp has a simple structure and lower cost, suitable for general piping. A two-stage clamp distributes the hinge to two locations for more uniform face pressure, preferred for general high-hermeticity lines. A three-stage clamp has even more divisions, giving more uniform circumferential stress, suitable for long-term fixed installations and lines with strict leak control.

Do I need to prepare gaskets separately?

Yes. The tri-clamp system forms its seal only when the clamp, gasket, and ferrule are combined. Gaskets are selected from EPDM, silicone, VITON, PTFE, or similar materials according to the application. Tell us the fluid and temperature in use and we will recommend an appropriate gasket material.

Is there anything to watch out for during installation?

Over-tightening can deform the gasket excessively and cause creep, while under-tightening produces insufficient face pressure and leakage. Operate within the specified torque range, and during periodic inspections check both clamp loosening and gasket condition.

How is the size selected?

Sanitary clamps are supplied in tri-clamp standard sizes (1", 1.5", 2", 3", etc.). Tell us the size of the ferrule or pipe currently in use and we will prepare a matching specification.
