PSF-41 is a pipe ferrule welded to the end of sanitary piping to form a tri-clamp connection port. With a precision-cast SUS304 body and standard sanitary-piping finishing, it is used at the interface between welded piping and tri-clamp lines in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food and beverage, and secondary battery processes.

Which side of the ferrule should be welded?
The pipe ferrule has a weld neck (pipe connection side) on one end and a tri-clamp flange face on the opposite end. Butt the weld neck against the existing pipe end and join with orbital welding, then attach a gasket and clamp on the flange face side to complete the removable port.
Is there anything to watch out for during welding?
On hygienic lines, the standard practice is to apply orbital welding under an argon back-purge environment to prevent oxide scale on the inner surface. Immediately after welding, internal cleaning and (where required) passivation are needed to meet the cleanliness requirements of hygienic lines. This product is delivered with the inner surface already polished, so be careful not to contaminate the interior during on-site welding.
How is the size selected?
Sanitary pipe ferrules are supplied in tri-clamp standard sizes (1", 1.5", 2", 3", etc.). Tell us the pipe outer diameter and clamp size you currently use and we will prepare a matching specification.
Should I select SUS304 or SUS316L?
SUS304 is the standard for most general food, beverage, and hygienic lines. SUS316L is generally selected for lines with high chloride concentrations, lines containing strong organic acids, and GMP-grade pharmaceutical and biotech processes for corrosion resistance and regulatory compliance.
